The use of different types of subfloors (e.g. compressed wood fibre board under a Balterio subfloor) under a Balterio laminate is not recommended. It is important that the subfloor is stable and compression-resistant to avoid damage to the joints between the planks. In such cases it is advised to level the uneven surface with e.g. a levelling mortar. A vapour screen can then first be laid on the dried leveller, then a Balterio subfloor, with on top the Balterio laminate floor.
